Controller ( Base Station) to Individual User calls

Modified on Thu, 12 Jan 2023 at 07:56 PM

Opening direct voice communications between operator and user in the field.

Step 1:
First navigate to Dispatch through the BroadNet Portal.
Once in Dispatch (and you're set up as a Base Station), click on the terminal you wish to open direct communications with.

Step 2:
In the menu that appears, look for the P2P (Peer to Peer) section, and select the option to call the terminal you selected from your base station. Click Start P2P and your base handset will make a series of fast beeps. When the user is connected the beeps will turn to slow beeps indicating the user is connected and ready to take the call. You can then call the user.

Step 3:
The terminal of the selected user will now notify them of the incoming call and their handset will beep slowly indicating a P2P call is in progress and show who is calling.

Step 4:
To close the call, the terminal user can press the Scan button on BN880 handsets or click CHA button or Hold down the 5 key.
Alternatively, the operator can close the call from Dispatch using the same menu as the call was started from (click 'Stop').

When a call is closed the user will hear a series of fast beeps showing the connection is about to be closed down.
