Modified on Tue, 16 Aug 2022 at 05:27 PM

It is possible to set the WiFi settings on a BN880 using the Portal. This feature should also work on other handsets but it will depend in the security setting and version of Android installed.

Setting the Organisation default Wifi

Navigate to the Terminal Defaults page for your organisation:

Scroll down the page and click the "Edit Terminal Settings" page. The following modal will be displayed:

Enter the "Wifi network name" and "Wifi wireless key" (password for your WiFi). Click "Update Terminal Defaults" to save.

If you require more than on set of WiFi codes then currently you will need to do one at a time by setting one up and sending to terminals before setting the next.

Sending WiFi Setting to the BN880

For a terminal to be able to receive WiFi setting they must be turned on and the PTT application running. WLAN (WiFi) needs to be turned on in the BN880 settings accessed from the Launcher (you may need to exit the P.

Looking at the main Terminal settings page you will see a button with a WiFi symbol on it. Pressing that will send any set WiFi information to the Terminal:

When pressed the button will turn grey.
